Critical GenAI Literacy (in-person)

Building on topics covered in the Critical GenAI literacy tutorial, this session will help you to understand the limitations of GenAI and some of the problems it presents us with. These include environmental issues, bias, misinformation, exploitation, copyright and the impact on how we learn, think and create. 

Critical GenAI Literacy is the awareness of both the potential advantages and limitations of AI. It involves looking at the social, ethical and political implications of GenAI. 

You will have the opportunity to explore and discuss some of these issues, and think critically about if and how GenAI can be used ethically and usefully in your studies. There will be practical activities and opportunities for group discussions.

This session is aimed at students from all schools and is delivered face-to-face in the Digital Commons on Level One of the Information Commons.
