Why do we use the term BAME?
We use the acronym BAME to refer to people from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic groups within the UK, while recognising its profound limitations in grouping together diverse experiences.
We continue to monitor our progress to identify specific challenges faced by particular ethnicities and ensure these are addressed. This approach helps us progress race equality while avoiding unnecessary racialisation.
