Neurodiversity - Thinking differently naturally

Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges the stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. 

In collaboration with the SpLD Tutorial Service and the HR Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team, colleagues who identified as neurodivergent with specific learning disabilities shared their stories.

In these videos, colleagues tell their stories and discuss what thinking differently naturally means for them and our workplace. 


Tim's story

Dr Tim Dolmansley, a University Teacher in Mechanical Engineering discusses how dyslexia is a different way of thinking and the great creative advantages it brings to his work at the University.


Esther's story

Esther-Mariam T Matthew, Business Analyst shares her journey of learning to be open and living with dyslexia. 


Maddy's story

Maddy Corr, Global Opportunities Assistant discusses her reactions and feelings when she was diagnosed with dyscalculia in 2019.
