The Graduates First Aptitude Test Portal provides an extensive library of practice online tests. A wide range of tests are covered, including numerical, verbal, logical, and spatial reasoning.

Whether the interview you are preparing for is online or face-to-face, practising with some video interview questions can help you to prepare for the types of questions you might be asked on the day. Shortlist.Me contains a wide range of practice video interviews for you to use.

Virtual reality experiences

At the University of Sheffield, we have developed a suite of virtual reality interview and assessment centre material for you to practice speaking out loud and gain confidence for your next interview. You can access our VR experiences in a variety of ways (not just with a headset), including mobile and desktop. 

In-person mock assessment centres

Throughout the year we bring employers onto campus and host mock assessment centres. These events provide you with an opportunity to take part in assessment centre activities, network with attending employers, and gain invaluable feedback of Careers & Employability Service staff.

Create your own practice questions

By reviewing the criteria that you will be assessed against, you should gain a basis for constructing some interview questions that you can practise against. It could also help you to predict which activities could be used in an assessment centre. For example, for a technical role, it's more likely you will need to complete a technical task.

Use Graduates First to access a question identifier tool that could help you to predict questions. 

You could practise with a family member or friend to get feedback on your body language and delivery. Alternatively, practising in front of a mirror could also help.

Book an appointment with an adviser

If you have an interview or assessment centre coming up in the next five days, you could practise your interview questions or talk over potential tasks with an adviser in an advice appointment. Be prepared with a list of questions or a set of criteria you think you will be assessed against to make best use of the time.
