I secured a place on the NHS Scientist Training Programme in Genomics!

Sophie Everitt MSc Human and Molecular Genetics

By the end of her MSc, Sophie had developed an in-depth understanding of clinical genomics. It's this knowledge, and the support from academic staff along the way, that Sophie attributes to helping her secure a place on the prestigious NHS Scientist Training Programme in Genomics.

Jack entered the Human and Molecular Genetics MSc keen to gain laboratory experience. Thanks to the extensive laboratory training, supportive environment, and the opportunity to learn from NHS Clinical Scientists, Jack gained competence in advanced techniques and a real sense of pride and ownership in his research.

Lizanne was drawn to the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology MSc as she wanted more advanced training in molecular techniques and their applications. During the course, she learnt how to plan experiments, troubleshoot when things didn’t go as expected, and think critically about data.

Daniel Hollard MSc Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Daniel completed his MSc project at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN), focusing on the development of new viral gene therapies for neurodevelopmental disorders. He’s excited to be continuing this work as he embarks on a PhD in Gene Therapy and Translational Neuroscience at the institute.

Sruthi chose to study the Biomedical Science MSc to really hone her lab skills and get extra experience carrying out her own research projects. During her research project, Sruthi collaborated with PhD students in the school which has inspired her to take this route in the future.
