I'm now ready to apply my new skills and knowledge to a career in conservation

Geraldine Burns MSc Biodiversity and Conservation

The MSc allowed Geraldine to develop a broad knowledge of biodiversity and conservation topics, a relatively new field for her. Throughout the year Geraldine learnt how to code and developed her field, analytical and statistical skills thanks to her research project. Geraldine now hopes to apply her new knowledge and skills making valuable contributions to conservation in the UK.

Sarah was able to pursue her interest in genetics as part of her undergraduate degree, which she built on with a MSc in Human and Molecular Genetics. This included a 10 week placement with the pre-karyotyping oncology team at Sheffield’s Children’s Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust, and led to a place on the NHS Scientist Training Programme.

Tom’s Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine MSc gave him the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in the field. He now works in the Centre for Stem Cell Biology at Sheffield as a Research Technician, where he gets to apply his degree every day.
