Set in Birkenhead, a place shaped by severe health inequalities and ambitious regeneration plans, the studio considers how architecture can strengthen networks of care and contribute to long-term social renewal.

Drawing on historical and contemporary precedents, students examine health related typologies, community care models, and regeneration processes through interconnected scales, from the body and building to the neighbourhood and city. Grounded in contemporary government policy, the studio critically explores how architecture might imagine more equitable and radical futures while responding to present day social, environmental, and political realities. In response to health inequality and the climate emergency, the studio adopts repair, maintenance, and adaptation as core design principles to support meaningful, place-based transformation.
