Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
In January 2022, the University of Sheffield signed the Can’t Buy My Silence university pledge. This means we do not use non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in relation to complaints of bullying, harassment, discrimination or sexual misconduct.
Since September 2024 the Office for Students has prohibited universities from using NDAs in relation to student allegations of harassment and sexual misconduct.
Training and role responsibilities
All staff and students are required to undertake regular training to understand their role in preventing, identifying and responding to cases of harassment and sexual misconduct.
