What if model farms could re-generate and repair the connections between citizens and the places that nourish them?

In the context of the climate crisis ‘everything changes’, the studio explored the potential for ‘model farms’ combining regenerative agriculture, regenerative architecture, and regenerative democracy. Working with sites and farms across the Sheffield region (Moss Valley, Hope Valley, Holme Valley), the studio engaged in speculative futures and place-based, ‘rooted deliberations’ on food ecosystems. The repurposed farms, demonstrator projects, and food infrastructures are grounded in considerations of soil, crops, water, materials and energy – and the broader interdependencies of civic agency, habitat, health, economy and resilience.
