The River Derwent runs through the heart of the Peak District National Park. This bucolic setting belies a complex eco system that has been manipulated by industrial interventions throughout the last millenia.

Extractive processes have created a situation where we are seeing increasingly severe flood events whilst at the same time, the reservoirs are running dry. The studio explores the cultural and historical legacy of our relationship with industry, development of our towns and cities and the pressure on open space and biodiversity.
