At the University of Sheffield, students and graduates have ample opportunities to take part in practice interviews, mock assessment centres and mock presentations, to gain the confidence and skills that will make the real job recruitment process feel less stressful and allow them to focus on demonstrating their knowledge and attributes.
Practice Recruitment Experience 2026
The popular Practice Recruitment Experience, delivered in collaboration with Gradcore, is returning for a fourth edition on Wednesday, 18th February 2026, across two half-day sessions at Sheffield United Football Club, Bramall Lane Stadium.
Students and graduates will have the opportunity to get first-hand experience of the recruitment process by taking part in practice interviews, group work, and presentation tasks in a safe and supportive environment.
Participants will also have the option to have their professional LinkedIn headshot taken on the day, speak with an Employability Adviser, and receive a personalised feedback report after the event to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses and improve their future performance.
Here’s what students said about the previous edition.
Applications are now open to students and recent graduates and close at 10pm on Monday 9th February 2026.

Mock Assessment Centres
Throughout the year, we bring employers on campus to facilitate our Mock Assessment Centres, where you can take part in assessment centre activities, network with employers, and gain invaluable feedback from Careers & Employability staff.
The next Mock Assessment Centre will take place on the 11th March. It is open to all students and graduates, and will include:
- two assessment centre group tasks
- an opportunity to chat with employers about their organisation and what they look for in their recruitment process.
See how our last Mock Assessment Centre went.
🚨Spaces for the March event will be limited, so register your interest (students and graduates only) to be the first one to hear when applications open.
Interview practice
Students also have the opportunity to prepare for interviews through practice interview sessions and by practising interview questions in one-to-one career advice appointments.
Our career workshops, events and one-to-one appointments can be booked via Career Connect, the university’s careers and employability platform.
