Hydroponics Zine published by H3 project

The zine includes accessible information on what hydroponics is, the pros and cons, and what the H3 project is doing within this field to mitigate the challenges of hydroponics.

Cover of H3 Hydropnics Zine

The UKRI funded H3 project, which Biosciences is part of as Work Package 1 - Novel Growing Technologies, led by Professor Stephen Rolfe and Work Package 2 - Hybrid Hydroponic Horticulture, led by Professor Jonathan Leake, produced a 20-page full colour zine for the enjoyment of the general public to communicate our research on how to grow produce without soil.

For increased participation a short quiz and a ‘Build your own hydroponics’ DIY page are included, to get audiences involved. The printed copies were handed out at a Science Museum Lates event in London on the 11th September, where our team demonstrated its work on hydroponics. The online version is available on the H3 website to download.

If you're interested in communicating your research using visual storytelling, please get in touch with Gabi Putnoki (g.putnoki@sheffield.ac.uk) to discuss your project and options available.
