About our work

Our work investigates how policy frameworks shape, and are shaped by, patterns of advantage and disadvantage across different communities and population groups. We analyse the mechanisms through which inequalities in health outcomes, educational attainment, and social welfare are produced, maintained, or reduced, with particular attention to how different groups experience policy interventions.

The cluster brings together interdisciplinary perspectives to understand persistent disparities in access to healthcare, educational opportunities, and social support systems. Our research aims to generate evidence that can inform more equitable policy design and implementation, addressing the structural factors that underpin social disadvantage while evaluating the real-world impacts of health, education, and social policy responses to inequality.
