Profile

Amy joined the SMI in 2019 as an undergraduate student. She has since completed her masters within the SMI and has now begun an integrated MSc and PhD programme within the department under the CDT. Both her undergraduate and masters dissertations utilised feminist research methods to explore afab experiences and the female body. Her undergraduate dissertation focused on digital media (specifically TikTok) and the influence of body based content on disordered eating whilst her MA dissertation utilised archival data to explore the Women’s Liberation Movement.

Amy's PhD is working alongside Social Care Wales mapping their workforce using the SAIL databank. She is currently focusing on demographic factors such as age and their influence on experience within the workforce as well as the potential impact of these factors on the future of the workforce.

Amy is also currently working as an impact intern at the Centre for Care working on impact tracking and mapping future research groups, such as the upcoming General Election Working Group.
