Dr Christine Huebner gives evidence on lowering the voting age to 16

Evidence was heard at a House of Commons Select Committee on Modernising Elections.

Dr Christine Huebner gave evidence to the House of Commons Housing, Communities and Local Government (HCLG) Select Committee for their inquiry on Modernising Elections. 

Christine shared insights from her research on political engagement amongst under-18s  and brought forward recommendations for supporting young people with political decision-making. 

These recommendations include automatic or assisted voter registration, initiatives to improve political and media literacy, and improved engagement from political parties with younger cohorts.
