Black History for Every Day of the Year, co-written with Yinka’s siblings, David Olusoga and Kemi Olusoga was nominated in the 13-16 year-olds category, where it received both the Judges’ Award and the Children’s Choice Award in their category.

The School Library Association’s Information Book Award is an annual celebration of information books. It brings together a panel of judges, made up of a range of experts from the school library sector. For the Children’s Choice Award, children around the country came together and selected their choice of information books from the shortlist, with over 1,600 pupils across the UK taking part in the voting process.

Yinka said, “We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to the School Library Association and to school librarians up and down the country who have shared our book and its network of stories from Black history with young people, their families and their teachers. ”
