Inaugural lecture: Culture and inequalities

Are TV sets, recording studios, museums and galleries all full of nepo babies? Are interventions to redistribute cultural funding around the country having any effect? And who's going to these places, anyway? This inaugural lecture will present an overview of the state of the arts. 

Mark Taylor is Professor in Quantitative Methods. He’s interested in cultural and creative industries, with particular focuses on social inequalities in work and in participation. His background is in sociology, but his research interests are interdisciplinary, across sociology, cultural policy, cultural studies, music, games, and other fields.
