Bei Peng is a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence and Applications of AI in the School of Computer Science at the University of Sheffield. Before joining Sheffield, Bei was a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool. Prior to that, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher in reinforcement learning in the Whiteson Research Lab at the University of Oxford, and a Non-Stipendiary Lecturer in Computer Science at St Catherine's College at the University of Oxford. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Washington State University and completed her B.S. in Computer Science at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Her research focuses mainly on (deep) reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, and human-in-the-loop machine learning. Her long-term research goal is to develop complete intelligent agents that learn how to achieve complex goals from experience, with or without interacting with humans.
