Profile

Since graduating from the University of Sheffield with an MEng in Civil Engineering, I have been employed by AtkinsRéalis in their Nuclear Decommissioning and Waste Services sector. Based in Whitehaven, on the edge of the Lake District, most of my work has been for Sellafield. Recently, I worked as part of the decommissioning team for Windscale Pile 1. However, I have also had the opportunity to contribute to the nuclear new build sector, specifically on the Rolls Royce Small Modular Reactor, and in the nuclear defence sector, providing construction support for BAE Systems' Barrow shipyard's Primary Build Capability development.

As an Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) member, my passion for fostering STEM education drives my commitment to align the curriculum with industry demands. With a background in large-scale nuclear projects, I bring practical insights to bridge academia and real-world applications. Actively participating in the IAB, my goal is to create opportunities for students, imparting valuable knowledge, and ensuring their readiness for the dynamic challenges in civil and structural engineering.
