Kim uses design futuring methods to explore perceptions of personal data in emerging technologies, with a focus on societal challenges. Previous research projects, not mentioned above include:
Queer lives of the hospital - understanding LGBTQIA+ experiences of hospitals/healthcare institutions to inform stakeholders EDI work.
The future of human reproduction - designing a timeline of events both past and speculative future events to allow various stakeholders to interact at a milestone event.
'Good' adoption of generative AI - producing a tool for SMEs and creative businesses to critically analyse their use of artificial intelligence.
Her PhD was in Design at Imagination Lancaster, a design research lab at Lancaster University using speculative methods to critically examine future health-tracking technologies.
