MMedSci Physician Associate Studies pre-arrival information
We are delighted to welcome you to your MMedSci in Physician Associate Studies at Sheffield. On this page, you'll find a list of important events, dates, and resources to prepare you for the year ahead. This page will be updated with the latest information as it is made available.

Your introduction day will be on Tuesday 16th September, from 10am to 4pm - Medical School - Seminar Room 07.
During the introductory week you will also be required to be on campus:
10am until 4pm Wednesday 17th September- Medical school, Heritage Room
10am until 4pm Thursday 18th September- Medical school, Seminar Room 4
(Please keep an eye out for emails from your course lead as locations may change )
There is the Medical Society Freshers Fayre on Wednesday 24th 3-5pm split between LT1, B floor and C floor ( Medical School ) which you are invited to join.
You will be given access to your official timetable via the virtual learning environment which you will be granted access to during intro week.

There are division-level events that will be happening later in the week. These will be communicated to you via Blackboard (information on how to access blackboard is available below).
Preparing for your studies with Blackboard
To help you to prepare for your studies, the SMPH Campus Programmes Blackboard Home resource is now live and ready for you to access. This is your online study support resource which contains valuable information about your course, the School and the wider University. The good news is, it's interactive!
You can introduce yourself to the SMPH staff who will shape your studies and your fellow students via the discussion board.
A team of academic staff, programme administrators and learning technologists will be monitoring this resource over the coming weeks so please do get involved!
Key information including how to access your programme timetable, the welcome week programme and registration details will all be posted here and other news updates will appear from time to time.
Once you have completed your registration, follow the instructions below to access the online resources:
- Sign in to MUSE with your University username and password
- Click on the Blackboard link at the top
- Click on ‘Courses’ on the left-hand menu and find the link to SMPH Campus Programmes Blackboard Home
Important things to remember
- To ensure a smooth start, please make sure you have completed both the Register for your course and Pay your tuition fees processes.
- If you are an international student you will receive a link to book an appointment once the records are updated by Admissions (this will come from preregistration@sheffield.ac.uk).
- Completion of registration and collection of U-Cards will take place in welcome week . Please complete the registration well in advance
- Make sure you have finalised your initial DBS check documents and Occupational Health registration forms before Monday 22 September. Your course administrator will be sending out a Google Calendar invite soon for your DBS check, which will occur during the introductory week.
- Please remember to bring the documents you listed in your initial application.
