Profile

I am a post-doctoral dementia researcher in the Rehabilitation and Ageing Research Group at the Sheffield Centre for Health and Related Research (SCHARR).

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of York in 2007 and went on to work as a Care Assistant and later as an Assistant Psychologist in the older adult services at The Retreat, a not for profit provider of specialist mental health care in York.

In 2013, I moved into research and joined The University of Sheffield, working as a Research Assistant on two projects in the field of dementia care and technology. In 2017, I completed my PhD investigating the use and accessibility of touchscreen apps with people with dementia. Since 2024, I work part-time at the university alongside a role in the Research and Publications team at the national charity Dementia UK.

Research interests

My research interests are in the post-diagnostic care and support of people living with dementia, with a particular focus on using technology to facilitate wellbeing and improve quality of life, and on the experiences of people with dementia who live alone.
