Dr Jonathan Aitken
Jonathan M. Aitken received the MEng degree in Electronic Engineering (2005) and PhD (2009) from the University of York. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the High Integrity Systems Engineering Group in the Department of Computer Science at the University of York, focusing on understanding and arguing about safe design for Systems-of-Systems (2019-2013). He joined the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at The University of Sheffield as a Research Fellow in 2013, working on the development of long-term autonomy for robotics in nuclear environments. Since 2018, he has been a University Teacher in Robotics with active research interests in situational awareness, collaborative robotics and digital twins for robotic systems.
