I have been working in supporting postgraduate research students for over three years.

After completing my MSc in Human Resource Management with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development at the University of Sheffield in 2018, I developed a strong interest in student support and administrative leadership.

I started my career at the University of Sheffield International College (USIC ) as a part time College assistant. Then I continued working for USIC  for another two years as a student support officer.

I joined the University of Sheffield in 2021 as a Learning and Teaching Officer and in 2022, I became a PGR support officer.  Over time, I gained extensive experience in managing student records, coordinating projects and liaising with multiple stakeholders. This progression naturally led me to my current role, where I focus on PGR support and the implementation of the Faculty Doctoral School Structures.

One of my biggest achievements has been successfully coordinating and supporting PGR students across multiple disciplines, ensuring smooth admin processes and timely communication during a period of structural change within the Doctoral School.

I have also led projects such as developing student guidance materials, streamlining reporting procedures and supporting complex event planning. My ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality service has consistently contributed to a positive student and staff experience.

Personally, I’m very proud of the Building Futures Project I coordinated as a volunteer when I was working in USIC. This initiative allowed me to work closely with colleagues all over the world to build a better education environment for young people from rural areas. Seeing the tangible impact on participants and knowing I contributed to their life was incredibly rewarding and it reinforced my commitment to supporting and empowering others.

Looking ahead, I aim to continue developing my project management and leadership skills, potentially pursuing a formal project management qualification to complement my extensive experience. I also hope to contribute further to improving PGR support services, creating more streamlined processes and enhancing communication between students, staff and external stakeholders.

On a personal level, I would like to maintain a balance between professional growth and meaningful contributions to community projects, continuing to make a positive impact both inside and outside of work.
