The leadership team sets the overall strategy and direction for the Faculty of Health, supporting our Schools to accomplish world-class research and provide the best learning and teaching experience for our students.
Vice President and Head of the Faculty of Health
Professor Ashley Blom joined the University in 2022 from the University of Bristol where he was Head of the Medical School. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, an NIHR Senior Investigator and past president of the European Orthopaedic Research Society.
Faculty Director of Operations
Dr Harris is responsible for the leadership, management, development and delivery of professional services across the Faculty. He works to provide the technical and operational infrastructure required to support the academic business of the Faculty and its departments in line with both faculty and institutional strategies.

Faculty Director of Research and Innovation
Paul is responsible for developing the research, innovation and knowledge exchange strategy for the Faculty. He develops and promotes appropriate research policies for all activities, working with counterparts in other faculties and research leads within departments, to actively promote inter-departmental strategies and interdisciplinary research.

Amaka is responsible for staff and student wellbeing and co-ordinating strategies and policies to optimise equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). Passionate about all matters EDI-related, her goal is that everyone should be given the opportunity to offer their best and to be appropriately recognised and rewarded.
Faculty Director of Engagement and Development
Tracey works closely with the Faculty Directors and the Vice-President and Head of Faculty to ensure that strategy and delivery align with the likely future demands of partners across health and social care, and of the NHS in particular.
Faculty Director of Learning and Teaching
Vanessa is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and enhancement for all courses, student progress and fitness to practise arrangements. She is a member of the Faculty Executive Board and represents the faculty at University-level committees.
Head of Finance
Rachel is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, budget monitoring and control and advises on and monitors faculty financial performance. She works closely with Departments and Schools to support forward planning and to advise on the financial impact of proposals and decisions.

Sheila is responsible for fostering an environment where all staff and students can succeed, flourish, and feel they belong. She is committed to creating a respectful and positive workplace culture that supports and empowers the well-being of all within the Faculty.
