Register
The University Health Service (UHS) is an National Health Service (NHS) GP Practice (doctor) integrated within The University of Sheffield. We provide primary care health services to students and dependants. Visit the Register with UHS webpage for more information.
If you need support registering with us you can visit us at Goodwin Sports Centre between 15th to 27th September.
Vaccines for students
The NHS and University Health Service recommend that all students ensure they are up to date with their Meningitis ACWY and MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccinations. Visit the Vaccines for students webpage for more information.
Prescriptions
If you are on an existing repeat prescription you may not be able to order this via the NHS app immediately after registering with UHS. You may need to attend a review appointment before your repeat prescription is re-issued. Please ensure you bring enough medication in case there are delays.

NHS app
The NHS app is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet. Download the NHS app to:
- Receive messages from UHS
- Submit a medical or admin online request
- Order or check repeat prescriptions
- Access your GP health record
It is important to have your notifications turned on in the NHS app so that you do not miss any important information from your GP practice.

If you take regular medication that is issued outside the UK this cannot be requested until you have attended a review appointment. Please ensure you bring at least 2 months worth of medication, in case of any delays.
