Current research
My current research focuses on understanding the transport of sediment by water, and, in particular, using new technologies to track the movement of individual soil and sediment particles.
These new technologies include particle imaging velocimetry (PIV) and radio-frequency tagging (RFID). My work is currently being undertaken using rainfall simulation in the laboratory, and at a field site in Japan.
