Foundation year
The MPlan Urban Studies and Planning with Foundation Year is a five-year course, professionally accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute, which leads to an undergraduate Master of Planning (MPlan) qualification.
The foundation year of the programme provides people with non-standard entry qualifications, a thorough and supportive academic preparation for successful degree level study in the School of Geography and Planning.
On successful completion of the foundation year, students will progress to Urban Studies and Planning MPlan.
Programme length
Foundation Year: One year full time.
Levels 1-4: Four years full time in the School of Geography and Planning.
Progression to the School of Geography and Planning
You will progress to the School of Geography and Planning after completing your foundation year, subject to meeting progression thresholds, which differ across courses and departments.
These will be discussed with applicants at interview. You can use the University's Programme Regulations Finder to view relevant thresholds - search for the relevant course and view information relating to 'Year 0'.
