Computer Science students have access to excellent facilities and equipment which stimulate and support 21st century teaching, creating compelling practical experiences, promoting effective collaboration skills, and resulting in highly-employable graduates.
The Department of Computer Science have recently invested in 40 new MiRo-E robots. The robots will be used to teach students topics including artificial intelligence, machine learning and cognitive science. Professor Tony Prescott - co founder and director of Consequential Robotics, and senior academic staff member in the Department of Computer Science - was part of the team who created MiRo. The technology developed for MiRo was a collaboration between the University and Consequential Robotics. Our students will see a direct benefit by being exposed to this technology which has been specifically designed for teaching.
