Working Group 4 (WG4) strives to determine the unique advantages of using non-human primates (NHP) compared with other available models and make recommendations in experimental design.

WG4 is led by Erwan Bezard and Benjamin Dehay from the University of Bordeaux. 

Aims

The aims of WG4 are

  • to reach a consensus on which NHP models of PD (species and type) should be developed or further characterised to study ageing.
  • to reach a consensus on which tools and reagents need to be prioritised and generated to study ageing in PD pathology in NHP models.
  • to reach a consensus on what protocols and operating procedures to standardize to improve reproducibility in NHP models.
  • to reach a consensus on what key features (Behavioural and pathological) should be reproduced in an ideal NHP model.
