Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节

The SCI’s annual Mid-Autumn event is a performance that celebrates the festival and attempts to invite Chinese and local performers, artists and poets to collaborate together. The event will take place in Firth Hall on Thursday 9th October 2025 from 19.00 to 21:00.

About the Event

Join us for an enchanting evening celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, a time for reflection, reunion, and appreciation of the harvest moon. Hosted by the Confucius Institute, this event brings together traditional Chinese culture and the vibrant community of Sheffield.

Programme

7:00 PM – 7:30 PM: Pre-Show & Mooncake Reception
Enjoy a selection of traditional mooncakes and explore our cultural display, offering insights into the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

7:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Main Performance
Experience a captivating array of performances, including traditional Chinese music, dance, and poetry. Highlights feature the renowned Wanlin Dance Academy, known for their elegant choreography and costumes.
