We are currently working on 8 different research projects including: a Research Prioritization Exercise; palliative care in mesothelioma; mesothelioma in education workers; variability in care pathway in peritoneal mesothelioma; analysis of MORE survey data; long term survival in pleural mesothelioma; impact of Covid-19 on mesothelioma.
We have published 7 papers in peer review journals, and presented at a number of international conferences including 12 abstracts at the International Mesothelioma Interest Group (iMIG) conference. We have two PhD students Virginia and Emilie who are making great progress with their studies.
We have supported and mentored six undergraduate students who have worked with the Research Centre, and helped develop research capacity by mentoring others and supporting grant applications. We have set up international links with other academics and clinicians with an interest in mesothelioma research.
We presented at the recent Mesothelioma Matters Webinar on Monday 28th June, to give an overview of what we've achieved in our first year.
Finally, we'd like to say a huge thank to everyone who has contributed to our work over the last 12 months, we really appreciate all the time and effort people have given to help support us.
