Arriving at the open day
You'll have booked to visit us from 10am to 12.30pm or 2pm to 4.30pm on your offer holder day. Please arrive in good time for the start of your booked session, as we'll need to scan the QR code from your booking to register you.
Your arrival location is: Dainton Building, Lecture Theatre 1 (LT1). You can view this on our interactive campus map, and there'll also be lots of open day staff and ambassadors around campus to help you.
If you arrive late for your booked session, please report to the general information stand on the Students’ Union concourse, where event staff will be able to help.
When booking, you'll be able to reserve a place for yourself and one guest at the subject session. To ensure safe venue capacities, we'll be unable to accommodate any additional unbooked visitors.
However, you're welcome to bring additional guests to accompany you on the day, and we'd encourage these guests to take part in our range of central exhibitions and tours while the school activities are running.

Chemistry activities
We run a range of activities on our offer holder days to give you a real taste of what it's like to be a chemistry student at Sheffield. In addition to our course talk, you'll get the opportunity to:
- Experience learning at Sheffield through a taster tutorial session on first-year content.
- Take part in a lab demonstration in one of our teaching labs, where you'll complete practical laboratory sessions during your degree.
- Explore the facilities where you'll be studying and where our researchers are focusing on some of society’s most pressing challenges.
Information for parents and supporters
While you're taking part in the chemistry activities, parents and supporters will receive more information about our school and the support we provide students. They'll also get a chance to speak to staff about the exciting opportunities that are available to you and where a degree from Sheffield can lead.
International undergraduate scholarships
We are offering scholarships of £2,500 for each year (subject to a 60% average) of your undergraduate degree. The maximum value is £10,000 for four-year programmes.
