Each pack consists of a tote bag, campus map, and printed event guide.  The guide will contain all of the information stated here, plus a £5 voucher to spend in one of our food and drink outlets across campus.

In addition to your Department activities we have lots going on both on and off campus.  Get advice on Admissions, Accommodation and Disability and Dyslexia support amongst the many other services we offer at the exhibition in the Octagon Centre. Hop on a free bus to take a look around our award winning student accommodation or stretch your legs on a campus walking tour.

Guided tours  - accommodation and more

The best way to find out about our world-class facilities is to see them for yourself. All of our tours start at 10am, and the last available tour leaves at 3pm.

Campus tours (45 mins)

Collect a wristband from level 4 of the Students' Union (accessible via the staircase to the right of the SU Welcome Desk, or nearby lifts) for one of our walking campus tours, departing every 30 minutes. Our students will show you some of our iconic buildings and excellent teaching spaces. This is a chance to hear directly from those who know best just how fantastic studying and living in Sheffield can be. Please allow 45 minutes for this walking tour. Alternatively, explore campus at your own pace with a self-guided tour leaflet and online audioguide.

Accommodation tours (allow 1 hour)

Visit our award-winning Endcliffe accommodation site. See inside a current resident’s room (standard, en suite or catered) and shared living area, view our beautiful green spaces and outstanding facilities, and get your questions answered by accommodation experts.

Take our free shuttle bus from beside the Information Commons on Favell Road, or from outside the Wave on Whitham Road.  We advise allowing one hour from stepping on the bus shuttle to stepping back off at campus.  Last bus departs Favell Road at 3pm, and returns to campus at 4pm.  Alternatively, collect a walking map from the accommodation exhibition stand in the Octagon Centre, or from our Accommodation info point outside the Wave.

City tours (45 mins)

Walking tours of our vibrant, green, modern city are departing every 30 minutes from the city stand in the Octagon Centre. Alternatively, collect a self-guided tour leaflet from here to explore the city at your own pace.

Library tours (15 mins)

Meet our student ambassador tour guides at reception of the Information Commons (IC) and Western Bank Library.

The IC provides a comfortable and safe study environment, extensive technology support, a high demand collection of 120,000 books, and a Garden Room dedicated to student wellbeing and relaxation.

Western Bank Library is a Grade II listed building, containing 1.2 million texts and 730 study spaces. The library offers great views over Weston Park, making it a relaxed and tranquil place to study.

Sport and Physical Activity tours (10 mins)

Head to Goodwin Sports Centre Sports Hall Foyer for a tour of the site's facilities, which include several synthetic 3G pitches, sports hall, studio spaces, squash courts, and brand new Fitness Suite.

Students' Union tour (15 mins)

Departing from just inside the Students’ Union main entrance, learn why our SU is consistently voted the best in the country and how it makes the student experience at Sheffield exceptional.

General information stand

Department activities

You will have booked to visit your chosen academic department(s) in a morning sitting (10am to 12.30pm), or afternoon sitting (2pm to 4.30pm for most departments, 1.30pm to 4pm for engineering departments). These details will be linked from your booking confirmation and reminder emails. If you’re having trouble finding them, please report to our General Information stand outside the Students’ Union. Please arrive in good time for the start of your booked department session, as we'll need to scan the QR code from your booking to register you.  Please note: Not all departments will be running a morning and afternoon session on each date.

Help with travel costs

If you meet our Access+ criteria we might be able to refund your travel to the offer holder day. You can ask about this at the Access Sheffield stand in our central exhibition.

Getting here

We recommend travelling to the University via public transport. Sheffield has great transport links, with several park and ride sites, and is easily accessible by train. We are unable to offer visitor parking on campus and the public 'pay and display' parking close by is very limited. Please see our offer holder day FAQs for further travel advice.  If you or your guests have a disability read our access information.
