- Profile
-
Shengyao Guo is a PhD researcher in Finance at the University of Sheffield Management School. Her research examines how transparency regulation transforms social and workforce inequality into financially material corporate risk. She is particularly interested in mandatory disclosure, gender pay gap reporting, corporate governance, firm risk, and capital market responses. Through her doctoral research, Shengyao aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the economic mechanisms linking inequality and corporate behaviour, provide evidence to inform policy and transparency regulation, and improve how capital markets assess and price firm risk. Alongside her academic work, Shengyao organises and directs large-scale cultural programmes that present Chinese traditional culture to international audiences. She is interested in academic collaboration, research exchange, and cultural projects that connect communities across cultures.
