Networking took centre stage on the evening of 6 November 2025, as the Management School hosted an exclusive event in the heart of London at Balls Brothers Minster Court.
The gathering welcomed our accomplished MBA alumni and Dean’s List winners, as well as the school’s London-based placement students and current MBA students, who enjoyed the chance to build their networks ahead of their graduation.
The evening began with drinks and networking as guests reunited with old classmates and built meaningful new connections.
We were delighted to welcome Bertie Tonks as our guest speaker for the event. Bertie is redefining what it means to lead people and culture in the modern era. His impactful work was recognised when he was named HR’s Most Influential Practitioner in 2023 and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2024. Bertie is a visionary Chief People Officer and works with brands to reimagine how work, creativity and performance connect.
He took to the microphone to reflect on unbuilding work and why the future belongs to those who reimagine it. Some of the topics Bertie explored included:
- How we design flow over control
- The human and AI paradox
- Leadership by design
- What it really takes to adopt fresh courage and to reimage how work is designed and delivered
Guests then had the opportunity to ask Bertie questions about these topics, leading to an engaging Q&A session full of insights from Bertie’s career.
The event concluded with more time for networking over some delicious food served by Balls Brothers Minster Court!
