When meeting alumni I am always blown away by your stories of success and inspiration and your fondness of Sheffield, however long it’s been since you graduated. In this issue, we share with you just some of your stories and anecdotes from those who we have had the pleasure of meeting and working with over the last year. I hope you enjoy getting to know your alumni community as much as I enjoy getting to know you.
Professor Fraser McLeay
Dean (acting), Associate Dean of International and Alumni, Sheffield University Management School

We have loved getting to know you and working with you on so many exciting projects around the world this year. Just to name a few, we have met some of you at alumni reunions in Korea, Malaysia and Pakistan, and more recently in Hong Kong and Dubai.
Meanwhile, back in the UK we’ve continued to grow our Sheffield Alumni in London Network with alumni from the Management School, School of Law, and the Department of Economics at a special panel event hosted by our Grantham Ambassadors at DLA Piper. We’ve also expanded our multi-generational MBA community at two successful events this year by hosting networking evenings in Sheffield and London for the current MBA cohort and MBA alumni guests.
The prestigious Dean’s List has grown by 11 members this year and we have received a generous 288 hours of volunteer time from our incredible SUMS alumni volunteers – thank you!
Thank you to all our alumni and friends for contributing to Catalyst 2023 issue 10 and making it a great one. If you have a story to share and would like to feature in a future edition, please get in touch at mgtalumni@sheffield.ac.uk.
We hope you enjoy reading this issue of Catalyst and we look forward to seeing what 2024 brings for our SUMS alumni community.
