Student selected to join UK-China Film Collab
MSc Creative and Cultural Industries student at Sheffield University Management School, Xiaolian Qiu, has been selected to join the UK-China Film Collab through the organisation’s Future Talent Programme for 2021-2022.
The UK-China Film Collab is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to inspire and encourage film related collaboration and debate between the two countries, through communication improvement, original project design, R&D, talent development and policy.
Speaking about her current project on the UK-China Film Collab website, Xiaolian said: "I’m Xiaolian Qiu, a film lover who appreciates good movies and I hope to do my humble best to let more people know the films that deserved. I’m currently finishing my MSc in Creative and Cultural Industries Management at the University of Sheffield."
"My current project is to curate a film exhibition for British children films in China. It aims to introduce about 10-15 iconic children films, from classic to contemporary, to Chinese audiences. It, although focuses on the films about, or made for children, the targeted audiences could potentially be larger since I believe that a good children film is for anyone of any age.”
