What's your career?

I'm an Investment Banking Information Specialist at Rothschild & Co, London UK

After graduation I struggled to get onto a graduate scheme, but finally secured a role at EY in London as an entry-level Research Analyst and Consultant, before being promoted to Project Manager and Senior Consultant. Deciding to do my masters degree post-Covid, I returned to London for a short time in the PRA at the Bank of England, before entering my current role at Rothschild and Co.

There have been plenty of highlights, from key achievements and new friendships, to a great piece of work that has had a big impact and job promotions, but I don't think anything can beat that first day on the job when you realise all the studying, ACs and endless 'tell me about a time...' questions finally paid off.

One of my happiest memories of Sheffield is undoubtedly studying abroad in the U.S. It was such an amazing scheme, and the friends I made there are my closest to this day.

Try and get some, any, relevant work experience. This is key to getting your foot in the door and demonstrating what experience and skills you have when applying for the career you want.
