Trading Room
Hone your financial skills in our state-of-the-art Trading Room, based on site within the Management School.
Learn real-world skills
Our Financial Trading Room is home to 16 bookable Bloomberg terminals which utilise a number of financial databases such as Bloomberg and Eikon/Refinitiv. Students can book these terminals which give up to date prices and news feeds on shares, bonds, global indexes and interest rates through the Management School’s bespoke resource booking system. The data collected through the software can be used for market analysis, trading and portfolio management. This industry standard software is used by traders, banks and multinational companies to trade financial securities, gain market insights and undertake research.
The Trading Room is used in our teaching across a variety of modules on our Finance programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Management School students are also able to book the Trading Room terminals outside of scheduled teaching times. As a result, you'll learn the principles, strategies and techniques used by the world’s biggest players. You will also develop your research skills to gain insight, evaluate ideas and make decisions as well as gain hands-on experience of interpreting accounting reports.
Boost your employability
Whatever career you choose to pursue, these critical thinking and analysis skills will equip you for the future. Whether this is at a financial institution, SME, multi-national, or your own venture, all need to base decisions on a sound financial framework.
Student testimonials
My corporate finance modules and Bloomberg terminal experience taught me how to analyse public companies in detail and understand how they raise finance for ventures and what differentiates good business models from bad.

The teaching facilities are so advanced, in the stock trading room, we study with professional software like Bloomberg, Eikon and other databases which always made me feel like a real fund manager. These are also desirable skills in the workplace.
