CMI Town Hall

Please join us for the next Centre for Machine Intelligence (CMI) Town Hall on Wednesday 23rd September 2026 at Inox. This event is in-person only and open to anyone with an interest in AI and data - you don't need to be actively using AI in your work to attend!

This event offers a fantastic opportunity to network, hear the latest from the CMI, and explore a key theme shaping the future of AI: Discovery.

Discovery sits at the very core of modern machine intelligence. Today, AI tools are drastically speeding up how we solve complex problems and uncover new scientific breakthroughs. However, this rapid pace of AI-driven discovery also reshapes our society, inviting necessary reflection on its broader impact.

Give a Talk or Pitch

If you're interested in giving a talk about discovery or another topic, let us know on the registration form. We'll do our best to include as many as we can! This can be a short 1-minute pitch or a longer presentation.

Have a problem, solution, or research you want to share with the community? We also invite you to give a short, 1-minute community pitch. These are open to everyone, regardless of your current use of AI.

Agenda

The agenda includes an update from CMI Director James Marshall, presentations from featured speakers Professor Nicholas Warren (Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering) and Dr. Xiang Ren (Architecture and Landscape), and a session of rapid-fire, 1-minute community pitches.

Note: The CMI Town Hall is a bi-annual event with themes that vary each time. If you can't make this one, keep an eye out for details on our next meeting in March 2027!
