Profile

I am an applied mathematician specialising in vibrations and wave propagation in complex and periodic structures.

As a PDRA at The University of Sheffield, I am currently involved in two major research projects: the EU multi-institutional project AI:LINERS, which aims to develop an acoustic monitoring tool for detecting hidden defects in sewer pipes, and an EPSRC-funded project focused on developing a theoretical framework for novel bio-inspired micromachine sensors for measuring acoustic quantities.

Previously, I have worked on some challenging problems in elastodynamics and on asymptotic homogenization of composite periodic structures. I have also studied vibro-acoustic modelling of musical instruments which I found particularly fascinating.

My research interests also include state-of-the-art elastic and acoustic metamaterials and their applications in wave manipulation and control.
