Research Project Title: Minimising the Levelised Cost of Electricity of Floating Wind Turbines by Controlling the Mooring Line Length. 

This project aims to design a control system that changes the mooring line length of a floating wind turbine depending on the environmental conditions. The control system aims to minimise the fatigue rate of the lines and simultaneously maximise the turbines' power output. The control system will use an artificial neural network to predict what the best action to take is, which will be verified by scale model testing.
