The School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering has delivered another strong performance in the UK league table, securing top-five places across all three of its core disciplines in the latest Guardian University Guide.
Building on recent success in the National Student Survey, the results highlight significant year-on-year progress across the School:
- Aerospace Engineering held its outstanding 2nd place position in the UK, reinforcing its status as a top national destination to study this subject.
- Mechanical Engineering climbed two places to claim 2nd place in the UK.
- Civil Engineering moved into the top five nationwide, rising to 5th place.
Together, these results confirm the School’s reputation for offering consistent quality engineering education across its entire course portfolio.
Seeing results like this across all our subjects is a proud moment for everyone. Consistently standing at 2nd place in Aerospace engineering whilst seeing both Mechanical and Civil Engineering move up the rankings shows that our focus on student experience and practical learning is delivering results. Rankings are calculated using key factors such as course satisfaction, teaching quality, feedback, and the percentage of graduates who move into professional careers or further study within 15 months.
These individual subject successes contribute to some impressive results for the wider Faculty of Engineering at Sheffield, positioning the university as one of the very best places in the country to study engineering.
