2025 marks 200 years since the birth of ‘Lord’ George Sanger, one of the most significant circus proprietors of all time. From early beginnings growing up on the fairground, to the formation of the Sanger’s Allied Circus, through to his family life, significant legacy and impact, Sanger 200 recounts a decorated life through the archive.
This project is hosted in a new and innovative digital platform called Genially. With Genially we are able to build bespoke online projects that incorporate interactive elements and allow us to engage with audiences in a creative and participatory manner. The platform enhances access through multiple functions such as text and audio overlays, image enlargement, Alt text, IIIF and more. This is an exciting first step into increasing audience engagement through digital resources and showcasing our precious archival material. Watch out for the upcoming Sanger 200 exhibition trial containing quizzes, puzzles and other fun activities.
The project offers a pivotal moment in our year-round strategy for building innovative ways of communicating our archive to new and existing audiences.
Experience the exhibition and let us know what you think through your feedback at the end of the experience.
