A drinks reception will follow the talk and Q&A.

All university staff, students, and members of the public are invited to attend this lecture.

The talk will address how gender was produced through visual codes of caste in late nineteenth century British India through an exploration of colonial ethnographic photography. The event will start at 4:30, with the speaker speaking for 45 minutes until 5:15, and a round of Q&A until 6PM. At 6PM, there will be a drinks reception in the Heartspace Cafe on Level C in the Mappin Hall. 

The talk will be live-streamed so if you cannot attend in person, please book an online ticket. However, the relaxed discussion following the talk will only be accessible to in-person attendees. Therefore, if you can attend in person, this option is recommended.
