- Profile
-
I joined the University of Sheffield in September 2023. My expertise lies in the field of general international law and, specifically, the law of international responsibility and interpretation. I have also conducted research in various specialised fields of international law including the law of the sea, international criminal law, and international investment law. My current project studies the content and evolution of international rules of interpretation across different sources and different subject matters.
Prior to joining Sheffield, I was lecturer in Public International Law at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands and postdoctoral researcher for the ERC-funded project ‘The Rules of Interpretation of Customary International Law’ (TRICI-Law). I have also worked as a judicial fellow at the International Court of Justice and taught public international law for the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford. Other prior engagements include research positions at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and the University of Athens.
I completed my doctoral dissertation on the intersections between the law of state responsibility and international criminal law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford. I have studied law at the University of Athens (LLB; LLM) and University College London (LLM), where I was awarded the Schwarzenberger Prize in International Law by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London. I am also a member of the Bar in Athens, Greece.
