How we’re supporting Religion, Belief and No-Belief across the University
From consulting with staff and students as part of the Listening Project to launching our first Religion, Belief and No Belief Strategy and Action Plan, we are committed to ensuring that those whose religion, belief and no belief forms an important part of their identity feel a sense of belonging.
Off
We know we have to continue to work with staff and students to understand and learn more about the barriers to collaborative working and activities that could support the development and progression of work in this area.
Our actions and activities are staff and student-focused and as we continue to advance our work in this area we will review, reflect and update our Action Plan so the priorities reflect the needs of our University community.
Completed work
- Launched an internal staff religion, belief and no-belief hub focused on providing updates on the Action Plan as well as resources and support for colleagues.
- Added religion, belief and cultural observation dates to the University’s internal One University calendar with support from the Belief, No Belief and Religious Life Centre.
- Developed and published our Religion and Belief guidance, which aims to raise awareness of the needs of those for whom religion and belief is a part of their identity, and support members of our University on how to deal with requests related to a person’s religion or belief and/or their cultural identity.
