Sheffield gave me both a strong academic foundation and a memorable living experience that continues to benefit me long after completing my studies.
My experience at the University of Sheffield was overwhelmingly positive
The city itself provided an ideal environment for students—safe, comfortable, and supportive, with everything within easy reach. It offered the perfect balance between a peaceful place to focus on studying and a vibrant community to enjoy daily life.
Academically, the course content and assignments were highly relevant and directly applicable to my career after graduation. The modules were thoughtfully designed, the learning process was challenging yet rewarding, and the practical projects helped me develop skills I now use in my professional roles. My tutors were knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in student success, which made the learning experience even more meaningful.
Overall, Sheffield gave me both a strong academic foundation and a memorable living experience that continues to benefit me long after completing my studies.
My career path since graduation
After completing my Master of Science in Data Science at the University of Sheffield in 2022, I began my professional journey as a Specialist in the Governance Office at the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of Indonesia. In this role, I applied my analytical expertise to support the development of data-driven governance, strengthen organisational compliance, and enhance digital transformation initiatives across the institution. This experience deepened my understanding of public-sector systems, strategic decision-making, and the importance of robust data governance in large-scale national operations.
Building upon this foundation, I expanded my career into the world of education, technology, and community development by becoming a Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the March Veterinary Training Center. Here, I have been responsible for designing digital learning infrastructures, developing training technologies, and ensuring that the institution leverages data-enabled strategies to improve veterinary education in Indonesia. My background in data science has enabled me to integrate modern analytics, workflow automation, and user-centric platform design into the center’s operations.
In parallel, I also co-founded PT. Telering Scholars Network, a large-scale mentoring ecosystem that supports tens of thousands of scholarship applicants across Indonesia. As the CTO, I oversee the technological, analytical, and strategic frameworks that allow the platform to deliver accessible, high-quality educational resources. This role has allowed me to combine my academic expertise, leadership experience, and passion for community empowerment—transforming data-driven insights into programs that meaningfully impact the next generation of scholars.
My educational background has served as a strong foundation
Across these roles, my educational background has served as a strong foundation, equipping me with the technical capability, strategic mindset, and interdisciplinary perspective necessary to navigate and shape diverse sectors—from government administration to digital education and large-scale community development. My career continues to be guided by a commitment to innovation, public value, and the transformative power of data-enabled solutions.
The MSc in Data Science equipped me with the technical foundation to build digital learning infrastructures, analyse user needs, and design data-driven solutions—skills that became essential in my work. The programme also strengthened my problem-solving, research, and critical-thinking abilities, enabling me to develop modern, scalable training systems for veterinary education.
At the same time, the collaborative and multicultural environment at Sheffield helped me grow as a communicator and leader. These experiences directly supported my current role, where I apply analytical thinking and technology to support a nationwide mentoring ecosystem. The ability to translate complex ideas into accessible learning tools, manage diverse teams, and build community-focused platforms all stem from the academic and interpersonal skills I developed during my time at Sheffield.
My experiences [at the University of Sheffield] have significantly shaped my personal and professional growth
During my time at university, I completed a year abroad, received a scholarship/grant and benefitted from alumni support. Together, these experiences enriched my student journey, broadened my perspective, and equipped me with the practical insight and interdisciplinary mindset that continue to benefit my career today.
