Scholarship opportunities for 2027-28 entry
ESRC White Rose Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership scholarships
These scholarships are awarded to UK and international students wishing to start in October 2027. The competition provides the following awards:
WRDTP Pathway Awards
WRDTP Advanced Quantitative Methods Awards
WRDTP Advanced Data Analytics (ADA) awards
It is encouraged and expected that applicants will have contacted their proposed supervisor and discussed their research proposal well in advance of the below study application deadline. This deadline is for all documents to be finalised and submitted to the application portal.
You must have a study offer (a PhD place) in place to be considered for a scholarship. You must apply for the PhD with your finalised documents as soon as possible but no later than Friday 4th December 2026 if you also intend to apply for a scholarship.
This deadline is to ensure that there is sufficient time for you to (i) address prospective supervisory feedback on your PhD proposal and (ii) be interviewed by the School as part of the application process. Both steps should normally be completed by the winter closure period.
The WRDTP funding application deadline is 20 January 2027, 17.00. This deadline is for all documents to be finalised and submitted to the application form.
